Welcome to the Patti Robinson Memorial RH Cross Country Scholarship page.
This scholarship program was established in memory of Patti Robinson, a long time
supporter and dear friend of the Rush Henrietta Cross Country family.This fund has been created to provide confidential, need-based scholarships available to all current Rush Henrietta Cross Country runners grades 7-12. The scholarships are designed to help offset the costs associated with insuring a safe, enjoyable and successful high school cross country experience. Specifically, these scholarships would be applied towards out-of-town team travel, trainers or spikes, team clothing, athletic wear for inclement weather or similar necessities as determined by the scholarship committee.
Patti was a regular fixture at every RH cross country meet no matter where or when the team was competing. She was undaunted by even the worst weather or the longest drive. Even as her health began to fail her she still found a way to be at our meets to support the kids.
Patti could be heard yelling supportive cheers to every member of the team all of whom she knew by name, grade and even previous performances. All the kids knew that no matter how theyʼd performed they would be greeted by Pattiʼs reassuring smile and infectious laugh, as well as words of encouragement and praise. Patti understood the physical demands of cross country and truly appreciated great performances. Patti would always send an approving cheer to members of other teams which gained her the respect and friendship of coaches, runners and their families all around the state.
Patti spent countless hours editing and posting Jayʼs great running photos onto the RHrunning site for all three of the running seasons. She created the Alumni link on the site which allows the RHrunning family to keep tabs on the accomplishments of our kids as they take their talents to the next level.
Patti truly loved her family, her friends, all things RHrunning, Delilah (her pot-belly pig), life and especially Halloween. She made everyone who knew her a better and happier person. It is fitting that her memory will live on as we celebrate her life through her memorial race, “Pattiʼs Halloween 2 mile”, and her scholarship fund.
