The meet this Saturday was great. A huge turnout to watch McQuaid and R-H battle on the Mendon East course. McQuaid's Mike Tripp led a host of Royal Comets. Tripp's time of 17:29 was only 8 seconds ahead of Corey Stappenbeck. R-H had seven runners in the top ten finishers to dominate the meet. There were many PR's in the meet and a look of determination on the guys faces. I'm looking forward to this Tuesday to see everyone step up and race.
I want to thank the families that brought food and those that helped with the picnic after the meet. It was a lot of fun and I think everyone had a great time.

What a great first invitational for RH-XC.
The modified and JV teams would have won their races if there was team scoring.
The boys modified individual race came down to a lean, after racing 1.4 miles
Colby Burke had just enough left to catch and pass his rival at the finish line.
In the boys JV race, Jadon Carr ran his best race of the season, going off course and still managing to finish in second place by only a couple of seconds. His performance was the 6th fastest of all RH boys for the day.
Jessica Vay continues to improve, she finished 5th overall in the girls JV race. Cassie DiMarino won the race coming from well off the pace in the first mile. PR's for Lauren Tomkinson (-0:10), Lea Paris (-0:10), Kaylee Johnson (-1:23) and Meggie Crandall (-0:37).
The varisty girls finished in third place.. Rachel Zoyhofski went from 46th at the mile to finish in 18th place. She also ran a personal best knocking off 1:43 from last years race. All seven girls medaled.
In the boys varsity race, RH was back in third place at the 3/4 mile mark but then they started to assert themselfs and move their pack up to the front. The previous Saturday the boys handled McQuaid easily as the Knights were missing their #2 man. It was a close race this weekend right to the finish but RH won by four points over a much improved McQuaid team. Corning from Section 4 finished third with 74 points.

Rush-Henrietta Boys Cross Country Team Beats Fairport
The Royal Comets dominated the Fairport boys team by taking seven of the top eleven places. Corey Stappenbeck won his second consecutive league meet with a nine second victory of Chris Rowe of Fairport. Brian Hotchkiss, Sean Day, Mike Krenzer, Bradley Sauln and Nick Line took places three through seven. Senior Jason Comstock had his best race of the season finishing as R-H's seventh man and beating Fairport's fifth man by one second. The boys team is now 10-2 overall and 2-1 in Division 1, they are still in contention for a Monroe County Divisional championship with Penfield still to come.
The girls team ran their best and most competitive race of the season against the Red Raiders of Fairport. With the two teams exchanging finishers, R-H couldn't get ahead and lost by only five points. It was very exciting and Saturday's showdown at the McQuaid Invitational will give the girls a chance to get even. Jodi Robinson finished first for the Lady Comets in 20:22, the ninth fastest time ever run by an R-H runner on one of the oldest county courses. Laura Varble also scored a top five finish as she out kicked Fairport's Julie Cass, a state meet qualifier last season.
